We have created a Triad of Wellbeing. They are all codependent and inherently inter-related. You cannot have one without the other. The body is a dynamic changing evolving entity, you have to take care of it constantly. With the triad complete, you get the halo of optimal well being.
The elements are structure, function and nutrition.
A sound structure creates better function, and nutrition enhances the other two.
Structure: structure is the key element in the wellness of the body. We have to get the body out of pain, out of distress, and restore its vitality and energy, so that it can optimally function. Structure is worked on through various healing modalities. Structure is the foundation, and it is all about therapy. The foundation has to be solid so that you can create proper function. Basically, your body has to be returned to a pain free state. Structure applies therapuetic protocols for a simple approach to attaining a pain free body.When the body is working then we can improve its function.
Function: Function is what you do to your body on the outside. This is the physical medicine for the body. This is the exercise component, including balance, coordination, proprioception (spacio-temporal aspects) , strength and endurance. When you build the function of the body, this is where you create elements of health and youthfulness, confidence, vitality. When properly functioning, the body regenerates itself and creates a state of optimal wellness.
Nutrition: Essentially, your well being is about the seemless integration of function and nutrition. They are co-dependent and inherently related when it comes to the success of your health. Function is what you do to the outside of your body, and nutrition is what you do to the inside of your body. Function is the application of nutrition. It’s what you do to your body on the inside, what you eat, what you drink. The quality of the food you eat cannot be underestimated. We have so much food that is so conveniently available, but much of it’s quality is questionable, much of its nutrition is questionable, much of its value is missing. Specific fresh whole foods, in a specific sequence, with specific groupings are chosen for there metabolic properties and so that your digestion of all nutrients is optimum. You don’t want your body to work hard at processing what you put into it. You want your body to easily optimize what you feed it. Food is fuel, and that should be its primary function.
